Özlem Sorlu Thompson

“I’m a multi-disciplinary artist painting acrylics on canvas, mixing colours with my feelings and perception to make abstract, the realities of our being and environment in this universe.

I gained a master’s degree in botany at Istanbul University and subsequently moved to England. I now paint in Mondrian’s studio in London. I love Kandinsky, particularly for his ground-breaking use of colours. Hilma Af Klint and Joan Miró also inspire me.

My work is colourful, joyful, natural, fantastic, imaginary, abstract, and dreamlike. It has been exhibited in New York, London and throughout the UK, online in Barcelona, and Madrid, published in print in the US and UK, and has won awards and prizes in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Collectors include Anita Dobson, Brian May, Maria Friedman and Andy Nyman.”
