Tim Guse

Tim Onday, aka Tim Guse, is an abstract painter whose colourful, dynamic work is uninhibited by visual norms and designed to provoke emotion. He paints with acrylic and plays with the canvas to create an image combining two canvases, giving the viewer a choice to change the order and create a new artwork.

“My inspiration comes through an emotional feeling. I shut my eyes in front of the canvas and hold a piece of charcoal, drawing with both hands simultaneously. Within a few seconds, I create something based on that emotion. Inspiration is giving a piece of emotional freedom to everyone willing to receive it.”

He resides in Brilon, Germany and was commissioned by the city to create a painting describing its culture. Tim organises art projects for community groups, and his work has featured in several newspapers. Throughout 2020 Tim has maintained an active exhibition schedule. His permanent exhibitions in Germany include, ‘RatsschКnke’ (April, Brilon), ‘Inforo’ (May, Brilon), ‘Studio 8 Gallery-BARantaine’ (June and September, Berlin), ‘Stopaks NEWART’ (August and November, Mönchengladbach). He also participated in the group show, ‘M.A.D.S-DRESSME’ (September, Milan, Italy) during Milan Fashion Week. In addition to his artistic career, Tim is also a passionate musician.
