“My paintings are initially created for visual impact; strong imagery evoking the natural world. Look more closely, and you will see particles and elements incorporated in my work, textures amongst the paint. These represent the subject of the painting and, in their inclusion, literally bringing it to life.
The canvases subtly examine the juxtaposition between the beauty of our planet and the sad devastation that man is forcing upon it. I received my artistic training at Portsmouth University, studying art history and fine art. Five years ago, having raised my family, I came back to art, taking up my brushes to celebrate and combine my love of interior design, the natural earth, and its elements.
My work was exhibited at Future Landscapes, The Room, Contemporary Art Space, Venice, Italy in 2020. This was my first international exhibit, and it inspired me to get involved in environmental groups in my home town on the south coast of England. I am also interested in examining how art and science can work together to bring awareness of broader environmental issues to a wider audience.”
