Mariam Katcharava

Mariam Katcharava is a graphic designer, collage artist and teacher currently residing in Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 2017 she was accepted into the Faculty of Graphic Design at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where she now teaches the next generation of aspiring graphic designers. She also works in advertising as a graphic artist, where she has made a name for herself with her bold and dynamic digital collage work.

Mariam works almost exclusively within the discipline of digital and analogue collage. She states, “collage has always been attractive to me. It was one of the first disciplines I actively started working in, and I have not stopped since. I love the details that can be created, the search for materials and the ideas that can become apparent when deconstructing an image and reconstructing an artwork.  I have always tried to direct my work towards more closed, intimate subjects; philosophy, erotica, mentality and fear all come under question. “

Marriam has participated in numerous international exhibitions throughout Spain, Germany and Poland including the International Collage Art Exhibition. She is also highlighted in Forbes Magazine’s ‘Georgia’s 30 under 30’ in the field of arts and culture.

Today, Mariam works with many reputable local and international companies, utilising her unique graphic style to tell their stories in a compelling and dynamic voice.
