Avalyn Doyle

The language of spiritual intimacy imbues Avalyn Doyle’s artwork. “When painting, I disengage from the thinking mind and become a conduit for the deep intelligence of the Australian land and Dreaming stories.”

She is sensitive to the divine, and the information she receives from God/Source enables her to share wisdom with others, using art as a means to communicate her message. Avalyn’s painting inhabits an inner and outer environmental context. It is inspired by the Aboriginal philosophy of the Dreaming, an ethos based on the connection between creation and all beings.

A veteran artist of 40 years, Avalyn’s extensive travels and experiences with Indigenous cultures and communities have brought her home and established a connection to her previously unidentified Aboriginal ancestry. She is also supported spiritually by the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, an Indian sage she has followed for almost three decades.

She has exhibited widely at shows in New York, Paris, Sydney, Melbourne, Switzerland and California, and in a train travelling from Moscow to Beijing. Avalyn’s artwork has recently been acquired for Wonderment Walk: a project hosted between various galleries located within the Melbourne CBD.
