Sarah Peguero
Sarah Peguero is a self-taught artist and interior architect. Born and raised in The Dominican Republic, Sarah moved to Paris, France, to study the French language and fashion illustration. Since 1993 she’s lived in Denmark, developing her creative studio and exhibiting her paintings in galleries, art fairs and associations throughout the country.
Experimentation plays a significant role in Sarah’s practice, and she has a constant desire to try new techniques, media and approaches to creating her art. Sarah’s body of work features paintings in a variety of genres and materials. She favours acrylic paint but also uses oils, charcoal and crayons. She’s especially fond of the colour gold, and it features prominently in her work, often embellished with gilt flourishes.
“I share a little piece of my soul with every painting I create.
My mood is my inspiration. Once the lines, shapes and colours start coming together, an idea for the motive takes form as well.
This high degree of unpredictability and impulse fascinates and brings energy and dynamics into my art. Spontaneity lives!”
