Adeline JEAN (Wadé)

Adeline Jean, working under the artistic name, Wadé is a self-taught abstract artist living in Charente, France. Creation matters to her above all else. She is fascinated by combinations of colours and the harmony they create. During the creative process, the countless varieties of colour and transparent effects allow her to construct and deconstruct her canvas.

She is an intuitive painter, often working without a sketch or idea of the final result. Adeline loves being in front of a blank canvas and completely freeing herself. “I let myself be guided by my instinct. I search for an interpretation between shapes and colours. I love and savour those few moments when I take a step or a few paces back. I feel that I am coming to the end of my work, but that a little something is still missing. I am bubbling over with ideas, and my gaze casts around my studio to find the tool, the colour, the effect...which will ensure that my painting will find balance.”

Adeline experiments often and is constantly looking for new tools to enrich her works. She manufactures her canvases in unique shapes and sizes, which complement the dynamism of her work. She creates what she feels, and her abstract art is an extension of herself, full of passion and emotion. She hopes her work translates these sentiments to her audience.
