Ribeka Fujii
“I draw the world inside me and you.’’
Ribeka Fujii creates her elegant illustrations using acrylic paint, graphite and coloured pencil. She has loved painting and drawing since childhood, which led her to develop her artistic skills at Kodansha, a famous Japanese art school. Her work is inspired by a range of artists, including Albert Anker, Loretta Lux, Paul Klee and Andrew Wyeth.
She was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to the city of Nagano when she was seven years old. From her studio in Nagano, Ribeka produces work for a variety of clients, including Japanese Starbucks, who commissioned her to create a short animation.
Ribeka enjoys participating in exhibitions and held her first solo show in 2010, and has since hosted solo exhibitions in Japan, Sweden and Poland. Ribeka has also participated in exhibitions of Japanese artists in Australia and New Zealand. She warmly welcomes opportunities for collaboration with fellow artists and prospective clients.
