“I currently reside in Madrid, Spain, where I work as a concept artist – visual development specialising in video games and animation. Cultural diversity and adaptation are key influences on my work since I lived in Portugal, Mexico, Germany and Spain for a significant portion of my childhood. Incredible artists like Satoru Takizawa’s work on The Legend of Zelda Series have influenced my art style variety, and Moebius has influenced my imagination, colour, and design compositions.
The main focus of my work is creating unique and fresh conceptual artwork for videogames and animation, using digital tools and real-time renderers like Unity and Unreal Engine. Most of the concepts are made with a 3D base followed by a digital paint over with Adobe Photoshop. Since I work on games, my art is shifting towards using real-time rendering to fully finish scenes and compositions, applying useful tools to make explorable 3D scenes seem painterly and full of brushstrokes.
My artistic training was mainly self-taught after watching art tutorials and courses on the internet, but I attended three years of 3D animation at U-tad University Center for Technology and Digital Art before starting my role in artistic direction at Another Coffee Games. It has been incredible to work on projects at Polygon Pictures Inc and Illusorium Animation Studios this year.
Notable events like Gamescom have made it possible to exhibit the work I have produced for Another Coffee Games. I’m currently working on some unreleased projects, including the ‘Asylum’ game.”
