Eftekhar Shirazi
Manuchehr completed his bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Complutense University of Madrid in 1989, where in 1999 he also obtained his Ph.D: Kosuth and Conceptual Historiography (1966-1974), published in 2001. He studied a Master in Art and New Technologies at the European University of Madrid, Faculty of Architecture and Visual Arts (2004).
His interest in aesthetics and visual culture drove him to study in-depth art theory and philosophy behind fine arts. In 2014, he pursued a second doctorate degree in Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts at the Faculty of Philosophy (UNED, Madrid) with the dissertation title: Aesthetic Theories of Virtual Worlds.
He has also obtained a positive evaluation to develop teaching and research activities as a doctor assistant professor by the ANECA. He has been selected three times for the Incorporation of Spanish Doctors to Mexican Universities Program in 1999-2000, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. Therefore, his teaching experience spans higher education levels at different universities in Spain and Mexico. He has given conferences, seminars on the artistic theories of the 20th century and courses on the practice of plastic arts.
Publishing books, essays and exhibiting his artworks has been a way for him to contact society and readers. The UANL (México, Monterrey) published his book titled Art, Aesthetics, Science and Technology: Artistic Theories, 2019. He has also been published in the magazine Armas y Letras of the same university as well as the magazine Art: Kalías, IVAM, Valencia-Spain. Moreover, he has finished two books on Joseph Kosuth and another on aesthetic theories of virtual worlds which are in the process of being published.
Manuchehr is also an active artist who currently works at his atelier in Madrid, where he continues to develop his artwork.
