Eleonora Nestasio
Italian watercolourist Eleonora (Nele) Nestasio works in a loose, modern, interpretative style. She says, ‘’light, colour and parts left to the viewer’s imagination are the distinguishing features of my paintings.”
Art has always been part of her life, and she attended art school to learn how to draw. However, it wasn’t until she was recovering from an illness in 2019 that Nele began painting in watercolour, which has now become her favourite medium. April 2020 saw her enrol in Jean Haines’ online art school, which taught her how to refine and develop her watercolour technique. Her professional experience and versatile aesthetic style allow her to create artwork portraying any complex topic, but she particularly loves depicting natural, animal and architectural subjects. Nele cites Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet as significant influences.
She has hosted several solo exhibitions in major Italian cities, but her art has travelled further afield, delighting audiences in New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Johannesburg. Nele has designed the covers of music albums, several books and also welcomes private commissions.
