Tamara Nelson
American painter Tamara Nelson has streamlined how commercial and hospitality locations acquire art. An interior designer may spend hours scouring shops and galleries for a specific piece; however, Tamara’s alternative process makes it refreshingly simple. She works closely with interior designers from the inception of a brief to create custom artworks that complement the space and add colour and movement. Tamara gathers inspiration from room concepts, fabrics, and finishes and creates artwork tailored to each project. A bespoke piece ensures a harmonious combination of painting and setting, whether it is for one original work or multiple guestrooms with thousands of components.
She welcomes any creative challenge and recently completed a 4,500-piece series showcased in the newly-remodelled guestrooms of the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Her work was featured in World of Interiors, GQ, and House & Garden. She has exhibited at Newport Beach, California’s City Hall Art Exhibition, Sares Regis Seacliff Huntington Beach, Golden Gaming Corporate offices, Tag Gallery Los Angeles, and numerous private and corporate collections. Tamara also owns a private commercial gallery dedicated to showing the archive of her artwork located on the Pacific Coast HWY in Laguna Beach. Her gallery recently won the 2021 Gold Award for Best Art Gallery and Gold Award for Best Mixed Media Artist Laguna Beach.
Tamara’s painting ‘Madagascar’ is taken from her latest body of work, ‘Rainforest Series’. This award-winning series highlights the beauty and fragility of our rainforests. Tamara’s passion for protecting and defending the environment inspired her to produce this series. She hopes her work raises awareness about the importance of preserving nature.
