Allycia Uccello
Allycia Uccello is best known for her contemporary abstract multi-layered acrylic resin paintings, drawings and glass etchings of energy. Born into a family of artists, she grew up in Toronto, England and New York.
Uccello’s painting practice experiments using resins embedded with paints, powdered pigments and mixed media resulting in optical luminescent light scattering effects at large and small scales.
For over 45 years, Uccello’s paintings, sculpture, murals, installations, and glass art has been exhibited across Canada, United States and in private collections in South America, Australia, Italy, and England.
The writings of Jane Roberts, and artists David Hockney and Georgia O’Keeffe have influenced Uccello’s deep dive into questions around reality and existence, developing a visual language expressing these ideas.
