Sunanda Docherty
Sunanda Docherty’s body of work is an eclectic mix of mediums inspired by the fashion form. She has been working as an artist and designer for over 30 years. Before becoming a full-time artist, Sunanda enjoyed a successful career in the fashion industry as a senior designer for Marks & Spencer, River Island, H&M, Luciano Soprani, Levis and more. She has illustrated two children’s books, and her illustrations have been presented to HRH The Prince of Wales.
Her academic training includes a BA (Hons) Fashion Design from Edinburgh College of Art and a MA Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins, London. She later returned to academia, lecturing in fashion at the University of Dundee (DJCA) for a period of ten years.
Sunanda’s artwork has earned press and magazine coverage, and she has exhibited in Dubai, Bahrain and the UK. Her pieces can be found in collections in Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, America, India, Australia and the UK. Originally from the UK, Sunanda currently resides in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
