Anna Scarpetti

Anna Scarpetti is a contemporary Italian artist. She was born in Palmanova (UD) on 2nd November 1986. Since childhood, she has displayed a propensity to art, and Anna describes making art as an innate necessity. She graduated from an art high school in 2007 and moved to Venice (where she still lives) to study at the ‘Academy of Fine Arts’, earning a first and second level artistic diploma with the highest score. During her academic training, she participated in various collective exhibitions and competitions. She is inspired by artists from a variety of eras, from Francis Bacon and Hieronymus Bosch to contemporary creatives. By studying their work, Anna learns greater awareness and pictorial determination and adopts these elements into her artworks.

After a hiatus, she returned to painting in 2019 with a more decisive and mature style that is still evolving. Each canvas is an experiment, an experience that leads to evolution; she paints instinctively. When she paints, she’s starting from an evanescent idea that takes shape in the concrete act.

In her works, various moods, thoughts, and perceptions are exorcised through entities placed in surreal and suggestive scenarios; Anna paints freely and spontaneously, extraneous to rules and constraints, and gives life to her works travelling between figurative and abstract.

She has participated in numerous national exhibitions and is available for commission upon request.
