Malin Eriksson

Malin Eriksson (b. 1968) is passionate about art and psychology, and her interests have helped develop her unique artistic aesthetic. She finds art in her everyday surroundings and derives inspiration and enthusiasm from the worldwide evolution of contemporary changeable society, and how being human relates to societal requirements. Her work explores the beauty and meaning in the human condition and humanity’s role in society. She strives to create art that inspires hope.

Malin is inspired by internal and external perspectives: things, locations, nature, activities, meetings and communication. Through the use of colour and form, Malin identifies and examines social issues. Colours are integral to her work, as inspiration and a means to communicate. She describes her process as “experimenting between the abstract and the imaginative.”

As well as the environment, she sees that the viewer plays an essential part in the context of her artwork. The dialogue between the piece, the observer and the artist makes the message of the artwork continue infinitely. Malin says, “With each interpretation, my work develops further.”

Malin is based in Skövde, Sweden. She studied introduction to the aesthetics of philosophy and pedagogy at the College of Skövde. She then furthered her studies in special pedagogic philosophy at the University of Göteborg.

She has attended art schools and art courses periodically during the past twenty years and experimented with different techniques and media. Malin has participated in several judged art events and is regularly featured in local exhibitions. She also participates in various solo and group digital exhibitions around the world. Her challenge is to make sensitive visual art experiences, and is excited about the future - there is so much to explore.
