Deborah Da Re
Deborah Da Re (b. 1976) is a self-taught painter whose compositions often draw inspiration from rural landscapes and animals, especially horses who she loves with a passion. She fills her canvases with splendid impressions of nature to take the viewer on a journey through paths animated with warm, intense colours. Deborah hopes her work shares a glimpse into the intimate vitality of the natural world. She is always searching for new stimuli or techniques to experiment with and incorporate into her practice. Her recent body of work features hyper-realistic portraits of famous people, full of detail and designed to stir intense emotions in the viewer.
Deborah’s relationship with art began at a young age and was encouraged by her mother, also an art lover and artist. Deborah spends her free time reading, documenting and practising her artistic techniques. She began painting professionally in 2010 and is included in the Roll of Honour of the Masters of Today at Maison d’Art, Padua. Her work was acclaimed by renowned Italian art critic, Paolo Levi. She has been awarded several prizes and awards, notably the 2018 VETTE D’ARTE Sestriere, Piedmont contemporary art award, and featured in a succession of books, publications, exhibitions, national and international biennials, including the 57th edition of the BIENNALE DI VENEZIA. Deborah has appeared on Italian television and in the national press to discuss Italian contemporary art and her solo exhibition, Naturally Art.
Deborah currently resides near Monte Pelmo, one of the most prominent mountains of the Dolomites, in the province of Belluno, Northeastern Italy.
