Carolyn Sharp
Canadian contemporary abstract painter Carolyn Sharp seeks to convey the sense of freedom felt in nature - the raw physical elements such as soaring skies and surging lakes and streams. Her reimagined land and waterscapes invite the viewer to experience their own ideas of place and invoke memories. Carolyn’s artistic process filters and simplifies. She pushes objects and colour to abstraction by building multiple layers using a mix of oil paint and cold wax medium while continually scraping back to reveal compelling formations that expose themselves as the work develops.
Carolyn’s training in interior design influences the structure of her compositions, proportions and use of colour. She began showing her work in 2014 and regularly exhibits through art fairs in Toronto and studio tours. Her art is featured in private collections throughout Canada and the USA and can be purchased through her website www.carolyn-sharp.com.
