Mélanie Lauzin
Mélanie Lauzin’s creative practice is instinctive and guided by her intuition.
She uses acrylic paint and her hands to create paintings rich in colour, movement, shape and texture. Mélanie explains, “I let my inner child (en français, mon enfant intérieur) express himself when I paint. That’s why I only paint with my fingers.”
Before pursuing her artistic practice on a full-time basis, Mélanie worked as a teacher for a decade. She realized that she harboured deep artistic aspirations, and it was vital for her to express them. She likened this change to a creative rebirth, and it was the catalyst for her to resume her artistic studies and began her training in art therapy and hypnosis. As part of her creative process, Mélanie documents her work in a personal development book, which depicts the evolution and discoveries of her artistic journey. Art provided Mèlanie with an opportunity to invite the viewer into her pictorial universe, and share a reflection of her innermost thoughts. Creating art for people to enjoy brings her immense joy, and Mélanie hopes her work brings happiness and positive vibrations to her audience.
She cites the work of Willem de Kooning, Asger Jorn and Helen Frankenthaler as creative influences. Her work has featured in galleries in Paris, and Mélanie also enjoys participating in virtual exhibitions designed to bring together artists of different nationalities. She currently resides in Valence sur Baïse, in the southwest of France.
