Motoko

Born and raised in Japan, contemporary abstract painter Motoko immigrated to Canada in 1992. She established herself on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, where she has become one of the region’s most recognised practising artists.

Inspired by the diversity of nature, as well as human emotions, she uses her fine sense of colour, design and texture to create compelling abstract paintings in acrylics and encaustics.

Motoko’s art is exhibited in her private gallery and on her website and published by HFA Custom Art Services, Vancouver, BC. Her original art and reproductions are housed in private and corporate collections throughout Canada, USA, Europe and Japan. Her work has been featured in books, magazines, television programs and has been exhibited in many solo and group art shows.

She is represented by Van Dop Gallery, New Westminster and is available for commission upon request.
