Andreas Skoufaris

The work of Cypriot fine artist, Andreas Skoufaris, aka Le Skouf explores Greek slang language. He experiments with different methods of translating a word or a phrase into a painting which often features erotic, sci-fi or humorous elements. Andreas builds texture and detail in his vibrant paintings by using a combination of tools such as acrylic paint, paint markers, spray, pencil and fountain pens.

Mark Ryden, Greg “Craola” Simkins, REVOK, Rime, Jose Parla, Kim Jung Gi, Ed Templeton influence his work, and Andreas also enjoys browsing Instagram and Architectural Digest for inspiration. He received his formal training in the United Kingdom, initially studying a foundation course in art and design and BA fine arts at De Montfort University. Following graduation, Andreas enrolled at Leeds Metropolitan University, earning an MA in art and design. He also recently obtained a PGCE from the University of Buckingham.
