Lyn Lawson

Lyn Lawson is an abstract artist who specialises in acrylic pouring. Her artwork often features vivid and metallic colours, and she hopes this motivates her audience to find and explore the bright colours inside them. Lyn finds inspiration in the unique and random results produced by pouring paints. She is influenced by other artists working with abstract fluid techniques, including Sylvie Escondida (Paugum), Rinske Douna and Erica Hughes.

Her creative process involves mixing, pouring and layering acrylic paints onto cotton canvas using a variety of methods and techniques. She enjoys experimenting with colour and texture and has invented her own paint formula and range of custom metallic colours. She has produced several commissioned pieces for commercial businesses and works closely with her clients, using specific colour palettes to create art that resonates with them and their space.

Her artwork was displayed at the entrance of the Twinsburg Public Library throughout February, August, October and November 2020. In November 2019, she was featured as Artist of the Month at The Corner Cup Coffeehouse in Stow, Ohio. In addition to her creative skills, Lyn also earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology/criminology from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
