Michelle Boyle
Michelle Boyle’s artwork is an intuitive response to her surroundings. Her oil and watercolour paintings combine acute observation and deep reflection through the lens of her own personal history. She was born in London and currently lives in Cavan, Ireland, where she has her studio base. She sees painting as the most personal of art forms and gathers inspiration by exploring the world around her.
Her landscape and still life work share resonances with Milton Avery in the poetic nature of her expression and the balance of simple forms and blooms of colour. Michelle’s expressionist portraits feature an energy of line similar to the process of Alice Neel and William Kentridge.
She is steadily building an international profile as a contemporary female painter. Her artwork is in the collections of UNESCO, Microsoft International, The Next Generation Self Portrait Collection, The Irish State and many private international collections.
Michelle works with international clients developing site specific commissions for private and public spaces.
