The Shanghairen aims to showcase creative visions of Shanghai. It's inspired by the iconic covers of 
The Parisianer and The Tokyoiter. The project was first introduced to us by Drawn Volume.3 artist, Xuni Gong who designed a beautiful cover for the project. We spoke to founder Benoit Petrus about The Shanghairen and he walks us through some of his favourite pieces.

Raf Reyes is a 21-year-old artist who produces dramatic work that aims to (re)consider our inner consciousness, the natural world, modern consumer society and describe how they all interact.
A multidisciplinary artist, Raf's practice combines mixed media collage, analog and digital art as well as graffiti based performances.
He enjoys experimenting in across a range of media and techniques including pop art, photography and collage. The counter-cultural aspect of digital art appeals to him, especially emerging digital art trends such as vaporwave, glitch art and grime/slime.

Painter and educator, Rebecca George describes her creative process and shares her advice for creatives looking to develop their practice

Rebecca George is a Contemporary Mid-Career Painter who has maintained an active professional studio in Chicago, IL since 1993. Her work has evolved along a spectrum of figure-narratives to abstraction, focusing heavily on material and application method. The surfaces of George’s paintings are highly attended to with saturated, gestural compositions that are continuously pushing into new territory. Her influences include Willem DeKooning, Helen Frankenthaler and Paul Gauguin. She maintains a rigorous exhibition and studio practice and is represented by The Art House Gallery. Her work is collected worldwide and she is well-published. She holds a BFA from Maryland, Institute, College of Art and MFA in Painting and Drawing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

HIBRID was established in 2014 by designer Courtney Shelton. It is a design space with a passion for a variety of design fields including hand-lettering, fashion, interior design, illustration, pattern design and more. HIBRID focuses primarily on hand-lettering and has produced a number of collaborations with brands such as Collective Ex, Lou & Grey, May Designs, SewKC, Regas Studio, and more.

Jane Park ( 박재인 ) is a Korean-Canadian artist with a BFA in textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design.

She is a maker of tangible objects, bringing back the attention towards the process of slow making. She discovers creativity in discipline, and finds liberation in rendering her visual diary into tactile wovens.

Liza Donovan is a Graphic Designer and artist living in Charlotte, NC. She has always been a passionate art lover and project enthusiast. Not to be discouraged by her very first drawings of gross anatomical displacement, where arms grew out of heads, she honed her technique only to find that arms CAN grow out of heads. Albert’s work focuses on the use of illustration and lettering as a single visual language where both interact and express themselves at the same level.
