Christo Kasabov introduces his new series of paintings

NEW WORK from CHRISTO KASABOV

The work of American Bulgarian artist Christo Kasabov is inspired by the masters of Italian High Renaissance and Post Renaissance. It is evident that his work is also influenced by the artwork of Russian abstract painter Wassily Kandinsky and the avant-garde Russian artist Kazimir Malevich.

Christo states of his creative process, “I use a complex combination of materials developed and distributed on the surface of the canvas as a challenge, contradiction and defiance of the concept of moderation.” He works with oil and acrylic on canvas. He explains his work as a “transformation of emotions”.

His work has been exhibited extensively to a global audience including group and solo showings throughout Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Greece, the Netherlands, USA and Canada.

We are delighted to feature his work in our latest edition, Curatorial Volume.2, Leaders in Contemporary Art. In addition to his works shown in the publication, Christo has also produced a new series, and shares the story behind the work in his own words:

“The idea of the paintings is based on the people's emotions, imagination and thoughts.

The paintings are an original handmade contemporary fine art figurative, surrealism.

Oil, acrylic and pigments on canvas.

The layers of the works have a surface rich of oil colors and elements transformed with human bodies to achieve the chemistry of the realistic and the abstract idea of the paintings.

The structure, the shape and the composition of the paintings is the reflection of my philosophy, aesthetic artistic style and feeling.

The medium the subject matter and style are based on my artistic imagination, personal artistic philosophy and professional skills.”
