Ritva Sillanmäki
Ritva Sillanmäki is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Finland. As a highly accomplished artist, Ritva enjoys working in many different types of media and technique. However, she is predominantly known for her colourful, imaginative photomontages. Her work combines photos of nature and people with structural layers made using old photographs, her paintings and sculptures. Her work is designed to encourage the viewer to make new discoveries with each look.
Ritva is a passionate photographer who sees the world through the lens of her camera. She’s studied painting and sculpture since 2008, and by combining these disciplines, she has created her unique style. Ritva believes that without the ability to actualise an idea or concept, art would not exist. Her work is a constant search for the best way to interpret beauty.
