Ooi Chin May
Ooi Chin May is a Malaysian freelance illustrator currently residing in China.
After completing her illustration studies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she went on to work as a digital imaging artist at various reputable firms. Her time in this role allowed her to refine her skill set while working across major advertising campaigns. Today, her clients still consist of advertising agencies such as WEC FIA, and a broad range of magazine titles including NEON (France) and Photoshop Tutorial Magazine (France).
Of her inspirations and work, Ooi states, “I find inspiration in my everyday life, the idea of YOLO (You Only Live Once), travelling, human beings, music, movies and artist I admire.
Through my personal illustrations, I tell stories and convey messages to my audience. YOLO is what I keep in my mind, it helps me get through my life’s to-do list. I create my personal illustrations to encourage my audience to be themselves and to do what you want in your real mind.”
