Álvaro Rozalén Pérez
Álvaro Rozalén Pérez is a paleoartist and creature designer. He currently resides in Madrid, Spain.
He is inspired by nature and has an in-depth knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, which he believes is essential for the creation of believable creatures.
Álvaro’s academic background includes studies in editorial illustration, 3D modelling and video game development. His current creative practice is focussed on digital sculpture, and his knowledge of illustration assists him when designing creatures.
Álvaro’s notable projects include a role as a 3D sculptor and skins designer in Primal Carnage and Primal Carnage: Extinction. He also designed the front cover of the book All Your Yesterdays, a beautiful compilation of paleoartists and their theories about dinosaurs.
“One of my greatest inspirations is Michael Crichton, who sought all the possible documentation before starting a work to achieve a more credible science fiction. In the same way, at the time of creating a creature, I document on every plant or animal that resembles it, looking to design it with a credible trait.”
