Liza Odinokikh

Liza Odinokikh describes her illustrations as “romantic, playful and colourful”. Her work is characterised by the use of distinctive patterns, thoughtful details and elegant colour palettes. She works digitally using Procreate but also with vivid tempera and gouache. Female iconography is the main theme of her work, and she loves to portray the bohemian lifestyle.

“I adore women! I always wonder how different and how beautiful they are.”

Her illustrations are inspired by travel, different cultures, local people, cuisine and traditional art. She loves the colour combinations and textures found in impressionist paintings, especially the work of Claude Monet and Auguste Renoir. Liza also finds inspiration in fashion, street style, eclectic interiors and the beautiful city she lives in, St.Petersburg.

She is particularly proud of designing the front cover as well as editorial illustrations and a range of typographic treatments for an issue of TimeOut St. Petersburg. Her work has also featured in two solo exhibitions in the city. Liza studied fashion design at St. Petersburg University of Technology & Design and advanced her artistic education at NABA in Milan, Italy. After graduating, she worked in fashion design for several years. In 2012 she established her eponymous fashion brand, though today she solely focusses on illustration projects.
