Jim Starr

 
 

Jim Starr graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh PA, USA with a BFA in illustration. He works from his home studio in Stewartstown, PA. Jim’s influences range from the Impressionists & Plein Air Painters to classic travel posters and orange crate label art. Jim creates most of his work digitally in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Corel Painter. One of Jim’s most notable works is the Mill House in the current Pepperidge Farm Logo. 

Jim has illustrated two children’s books, Big Sam and The Great Gold Rush Adventure. In 2017, he was chosen to illustrate the White House Holiday Tour Book.

With over 20+ years of illustration and print design experience, he has produced logo and brand identity design, icon design, packaging design, editorial illustration, portraits, event posters and web graphics for clients ranging from large corporations to small businesses. This experience has equipped Jim with the skill set to execute projects from concept to finished art and produce marketing collateral across a broad range of applications.

He is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators. His work has been accepted into Print magazine, the Society of Illustrators Annual, and the Washington DC. Illustrators Club Exhibit.
