Jillian Whitmore
Jillian Whitmore is an artist, illustrator and designer currently based in Wellington, New Zealand. Jillian graduated in 2015 from Massey University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons), and in 2019 with a graduate diploma in marketing.
Inspired by the built environment, she finds inspiration from architecture with modern and futuristic aesthetics. Zaha Hadid, Lebbeus Woods and Rem Koolhaas are her idols. She is driven by the dynamic and often surreal environments that are built for humans with unconventional designs and push our thinking of our spatial awareness.
Jillian creates transformative abstract cityscape designs with translucent layers of watercolour. The traditional hand technique of watercolour paint and brush application allows her to create work with purpose in an intuitive process.
She has exhibited her work in galleries throughout New Zealand, and her designs have the potential to be used for limitless creative purposes.
