Jansword Zhu
Jansword Zhu is a trilingual background artist, designer and art-history writer. He was born in Beijing and moved to Tokyo to study at Musashino Art University. Following his graduation, he founded his studio, JANSWORD DESIGN in 2014. JANSWORD DESIGN has won many international design awards. He is the recipient of two IF awards, a Red Dot award, three platinum A’ design awards, two Marking awards, 14 Indigo awards, two Silver Graphis awards, a Muse award and the H.A.C Artist award (Japan). His designs are featured in publications including, Food Design, Collage (Sendpoints), GQ and several design catalogues.
Jansword focusses on brand and package design, and he specialises in illustration and abstract expressions. His work often contains mysterious themes and symbolic references. Oriental images and icons often appear in his works. He is a multidisciplinary artist, producing paintings, installations and short film clips. His book, INVISIBLE Z AXIS - Art History through the Lens of Astrology will be published in China.
