Janey Eunkyung Lee
Janey is a Korean illustrator, currently residing in New York City. She graduated from Parsons Design School majoring in Illustration in 2016.
Her favourite artist is Maira Kalman. The lines and colours of Kalman’s paintings are forever providing her with infinite inspiration. “I use vibrant colours to describe anthropomorphised human-like animals. When I create characters, I never sketch on the surface. I believe in following my intuition and imagination to animate my characters and bring them to life. I primarily use watercolour to produce my work, but I also use pens as a tool to illustrate objects with greater detail. These drawings are vastly different from my regular illustrative style.”
Janey has participated in several exhibitions in New York. She also participated in Design Art Fair, Korea in 2017.
