Dinara Butasheva

Illustrator Dinara Butasheva describes her work as a series of moments. Her goal is to capture true movement and emotion and depict the perfect β€˜moment’. She finds inspiration in photography, 2D animation and the works of James Jean, Tuna Bora and Mike Shinoda.

Dinara originally studied architectural design but found her calling in illustration. Her creative practice combines traditional and digital techniques, and she often mixes media to create her artwork. Her favourite traditional tools are pencil and ballpoint pen, and she works digitally using Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Sketchbook and Procreate. She runs her creative practice from her studio in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan.

She is the winner of the 2016 annual IAMAG Master League Speedpaint Competition. IAMAG is an online magazine focussed on the movie, animation and game industries and works to educate artists around the world.
