Dario Merlo
Dario Merlo is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator who lives in Treviso, Italy. He began his studies focussing on graphic design and photography and graduated in art and performing art disciplines from the University of Padua. His drawing technique is almost entirely self-taught. Dario works traditionally using ink and watercolours, and digitally with vector illustrations.
“I don’t have a favourite art movement, but if I have to make a list of essential names for me, here it is Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Hieronymus Bosch, Arcimboldo, Magritte, Frida Kahlo, Winsor McCay, Norman Rockwell. I love meaning and optical games, bizarre contrasts, to discover hidden connections and blend my passion for illustration with my love for poetry.”
