Cari Croninger
Cari Croringer is a freelance illustrator and animator from Dallas, Texas.
Her creative practice is a melting pot of architectural and cultural influences, and Cari describes her work as “surreal, dreamlike and alien.”
Inspiration for her work comes from a diverse range of sources, including author and illustrator Dr Seuss, animator Felix Colgrave and the films of Jim Henson and Wes Anderson. She also finds inspiration in the vast and ever-growing community of artists online.
She uses a combination of techniques to produce her work and fluctuates between digital and traditional illustration and 3D art. Her digital practice utilises the Adobe Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects and Cinema4D. Cari experiments with a variety of creative disciplines, including graphic design, 3D printing, ceramics, sculpture, costuming and film. She explains, “I switch mediums often in an effort to carry other techniques and mindsets into all my other work.”
Cari is a self-taught illustrator who is currently studying 3D animation and game art at Collin College, Texas. In addition to her studies, Cari operates a freelance practice, currently working as a contractor for the creative studio, Groove Jones. She’s contributed to previs and motion design on various AR and VR projects including Hobo Johnson (Warner Records), General Mills (Cheerios and Nature Valley), Modelo, and the Dallas Perot Museum.
