Bobby Manquen
Bobby Manquen is an illustrator and concept artist based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at Grand Valley State University where he studied illustration. To complement his traditional training from Grand Valley State University, he continued to pursue his education at a 3-month workshop course focused on sharing the methods of successful concept artists, vfx artists, modellers, and art directors working in the video game industry.
Finding inspiration from quirky styles of anime/manga and comic books, Manquen’s work displays a dynamic range of motion and expressiveness merged with bold designs and colour schemes. Aside from anime and comic books, fashion has also been a major driving force in Manquen’s work. His experience as a screen printer and prepress has given him the tools required to pursue his dream of owning a brand dedicated to blending the worlds of illustration, fashion, character design and animation together. Manquen has travelled all across the country attending artist events, participating in conventions including the Motor City Comic Con, as well as currently managing his freelance brand, VillainBros.
