Ameena Fareeda
Ameena Fareeda is an artist and illustrator born in Washington, DC and currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in May 2018.
Her playful and graphic approach is expressed through multiple mediums, including digital art, animation and screen-printing. A colourful, decorative, yet simple approach to her illustrations allows her βwork to pop!β. Her inspirations come from day-to-day objects and interactions. She creates work that focuses on Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Asian American (AA) cultural and social experiences. She hopes to evoke curiosity and joy to people through her lively artworks.
