Alvaro Marinho
Alvaro Marinho is an experienced designer and audiovisual professional originally from Brazil. He currently resides in Montreal, Canada, where he has lived since 2009. Alvaro holds a Master in Design degree from the UQAM Design School in 2013. Since 2015 Alvaro has provided post-production solutions for on-line retailers as SSENSE and Le Chateau.
He cites Bosch, Toulouse-Lautrec, Dali, Bacon, Basquiat, Banksy, Blek le Rat as examples of his visual inspirations and references. In his artwork, Alvaro explores different techniques and styles, aiming to create in the limits of figurative and abstraction, suggesting rather than representing.
In 2014, Alvaro participated in Montreal’s Art Souterrain exhibition where he featured three installations, ‘Reborn-Renaitre’ in collaboration with designer Jorge Garcia. In 2015, he was part of the Centre Dare-Dare’s ‘Dislocation Passport’ exhibition, with his original ‘Vue Cachée’ project.
