Alexandra Cook

Alexandra Cook is a freelance illustrator, textiles print and jewellery designer based in London, UK. “I enjoy fusing child-like fun from my illustrations and blending that seamlessly into an overall minimalist, yet alternative aesthetic for my products.”

Her professional and academic background focusses on fashion and textiles, and she is a graduate of Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.

She describes her work as “Kawaii, colourful, bold but delicate, characterful and simplistic.” The influence of Japanese culture is present throughout Alexandra’s work, but she also derives inspiration from Greek mythos, photography and current fashion trends.

Alongside her freelance illustrative practice, Alexandra contributes her art direction skills for London band, Zoofan, designing cover artwork and promotional photographs.

Alexandra participated in the Miniature Art Show at QPOP Gallery, Los Angeles (2017) and was commissioned to create a tiny piece of work that required a magnifying glass to view it in detail.

Her work has been shortlisted for The V&A Museum ‘Inspired By’ competition by a judging panel of museum curators.
