Alexander Steenhorst
Alexander uses the human psyche to tell visual stories, utilising his diploma in Psychology and experience as a trainer and coach. The mind is a source of inspiration for him, and he has hosted an exposition where all the works focussed on human emotions. He is also the author and illustrator of Mister Mud, a children’s book in which a monster finds his inner strength to make friends.
His style is influenced by Asian aesthetics, particularly the Japanese genre, Ukiyo-E and he is inspired by creative masters, James Jean, Moebius and Kim-Jung Gi.
Alexander’s day job as a strategy design consultant enables major corporations such as AkzoNobel, PwC and ASML to conceptualise their vision or strategy.
However, during the evening, he uses his imagination to illustrate fantastical scenes above and beyond the known world. Alexander’s commercial illustration portfolio focusses on editorial illustration. He welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with new clients to deliver dynamic creative solutions.
