Salini Perera is a Sri Lankan-born illustrator who lives, draws, and paints in Toronto, Canada. She received a BFA in Film from Ryerson University, and went on to study Independent Illustration at Seneca College. Salini is a visual storyteller. Stylistically, she draws her inspiration from folk art, vintage children’s books, and antique fashion plates to create illustrations that explore themes of history, nostalgia, and pop culture. She has previously created work for Seneca College, the Globe and Mail and CBC Radio Three’s “Definitely Not the Opera.” She lives with her husband, Michael, and their cat, Stone Cold Jane Austen.
