“Inspiration for my work largely comes from Anime and experimental music. By juxtaposing different elements from both everyday life and my imagination, a world of both familiarity and uncanniness is revealed. Seemingly without connection, my illustrations are populated with characters wandering in man-made environments that have been overgrown and reclaimed by nature. They transmit feelings that one would find in their everyday life; a contrast between familiarity and the unknown, a sense of loneliness, distance and isolation that mobile technology is causing as real-life is slowly replaced by a virtual reality.”
