Born and raised in Nottinghamshire, the home of Robin Hood and Sleaford Mods, Richard May is a graphic artist, illustrator, painter and photographer.
Now based alternately in London and Miami, his clients for illustration and photography work include Advertising Age, The Big Issue, Budweiser, Esquire, Forever Records, Fujifilm, The Guardian, Nordstrom, Peugeot, Punish The Atom, Sony, Swarovski, Time, TimeOut, Vogue, and Wired.
His work has been featured in books by Lawrence Zeegen, Helen Walters, Martin Dawber, Design is Kinky, Viction Workshop and Mark Wasserman, and in exhibitions at The Fashion & Textile Museum, The Singapore Design Festival and The Santa Monica Museum of Art.
In a previous life Richard was co-founder of moving-image boutique Wyld Stallyons; design and culture digest Pixelsurgeon, and all-star illustration collective Black Convoy. He has spoken at design festivals and conferences internationally, including Semi-Permanent, OFFF, Design Madison and Computer Arts Live.
