Naomi Larraine Lawler
For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for drawing and creating though it wasn’t until four years ago that I decided to pursue it as a possible career. After years of experimentation and practice my main areas of interest are portraiture/people and animals usually with a sense of surrealism and/or nostalgia. My work is inspired by the world around me as I live in country NSW and have a passion for native Australian flora and fauna. I am also greatly inspired by the works of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and illustrators Rebecca Green and Freya Blackwood.
As a predominantly self taught artist I use a wide array of artistic mediums to get the results I want. My favourite mediums are digital (my iPad Pro and Apple pencil), graphite pencil and colour pencil though I will also use watercolours, gouache and pens in order to achieve the look and detail I want in a finished piece.
I aspire to be a freelance illustrator/artist through honest self-expression and by bringing the ideas of others to life in a creative and engaging way.
