Martina Liebig was born in 1987 in Moers, Germany. She graduated from art school with a major in illustration. Shortly after this she began her Masters degree in Design at the University of Applied Sciences, Hamburg.
Her works are largely inspired by nature, friends, day-to-day life and vintage ephemeral objects. Martina works strategically and her works are highly considered. She states that “Every detail is part of the subject and almost nothing is used only for decorative reasons."
Martina’s work has been exhibited worldwide in group exhibitions in Germany, France, Italy, Taiwan, and Japan. Her illustrations were also featured in the 2014 Bologna Children’s Book Fair Exhibition, and in 2015 her first book was published.
Currently, she’s working on her Master’s thesis, “a children’s book which deals with compulsive hoarding and depressive parents and how children cope with the situation at home”. The book will be published in October 2017 by Woow Books in Germany and the US.
