Currently living in: Graz, Austria / Europe.
Train, bus, bike, or other: Definitely walking! I love walking (in combination with music) because it gives you time to think.
What’s the most important object in your studio? My headphones. I always listen to music when I work and I like to seal myself off from “the rest of the world”. Literally covering my ears with headphones enables that state of mind for me.
Favourite project you have produced so far? My favourite project so far was a collaboration in 2015 with a friend of mine who is a contemporary dancer. We explored the common grounds of dance movement and illustration and although it was a more experimental project, I really loved the interdisciplinary nature of it, and hope to do something similar in the future.
What are you working on right now? I am currently working on some large-scaled, original drawings and trying to focus on the time-consuming process of making. It is something I haven´t done before and it really teaches me to embrace the unique pace of craftsmanship.
Favourite food? I am deeply in love with sushi since 2006.
Coffee or tea? I am more of a coffee person, preferably with milk and no sugar. I would even prefer coffee over dessert sometimes.
What’s your earliest creative memory? I remember that I traced drawings from colouring books for other children in nursery. As a kid I hated to sleep, especially during the day, so I was allowed to stay up during the afternoon nap times. The nursery school teacher took me with her to the kitchen where all the staff had a break while the children were sleeping. I had my own little corner where I could draw and experiment which was also the time where I practiced my tracing skills and where my love for line work started to evolve.
How do you prefer to spend your mornings? I like the feeling of being able to enjoy mornings without haste which is also the reason why I always prefer to schedule meetings in the afternoon. Usually I have coffee and breakfast (I love breakfast - it is my favourite meal!) and read news or design blogs on my phone for an hour or two. I think that mornings should start relaxed because a calm mind is the best basis for a productive day.
