Jason Christopher Adrian Little
Place of birth: Newport, South Wales. GB.
Currently living in: An entirely Mexican themed attic in my family home, too small for anything other than sleeping.
Train, bus, bike, or other: Train & my legs.
What’s the most important object in your studio? A photograph of Salvador Dalí whose eyes follow my every move, keeping me persistent. Following that in a close second place however, I’d have to say a sharp 6B pencil.
Paper or plastic? I am a stickler for the paper.
Favourite project you have produced so far? In truth, I’d have to say my current project. I think it’s crucial to always be moving forward.
What are you working on right now? At the moment I’m working on a series of oil paintings, taken from memories of particular moments in my life and attempting to convey them in the manner of which I perceive them now, through the then often contorted view that is provided by anxieties and bouts of engulfing, overwhelming lows mixed with fleeting sublime and euphoric highs. It could go either way really.
Favourite food? The Halkidiki Olive. Not a day passes by without the consumption of those most beautiful of all little green gems.
Coffee or tea? A large cup of green tea please. Several large cups.
What’s your earliest creative memory? I can vaguely recall drawing a scuba diver in felt tip pen and feeling so proud and eager to show my grandparents the finished masterpiece that I’m quite sure it wasn’t.
How do you prefer to spend your mornings? I prefer to spend them wrapped in a delightful cocoon of quilt and blankets, followed by the consumption of as much toast as humanly possibly. Alas I’m usually awakened at 6:30 by a shrill alarm to ready myself for a day’s work, with the production of artwork currently being my bit on the side
