I have been practicing art since childhood, mostly drawing cartoons I saw on television and comic books like Voltes V, Mazinger Z and Marvel heroes especially the X-men.
I am a self taught illustrator and have not had any formal training. I have been fortunate enough to hone my skills on the job. My first real job was in an animation offshore contract company, I was introduced first to cell painting then to in-between animation. After this, I got a job as graphic designer for a t-shirt company where I designed shirt graphics as well as print advertising.
My first experience with digital art was when I was working with a t-shirt graphics company. It was here that I was introduced to the PowerMac 7100, Adobe Photoshop 2.0 and Aldus (then later named Macromedia) Freehand.
Nowadays, I usually produce my works in vector format and my weapon of choice is Adobe Illustrator CC. I sometimes use Photoshop when there is no other way to do it in Illustrator. I may also use it for post-production and image manipulation projects.
I have now been a practicing illustrator and designer for almost 2 decades and I am still enjoying and pushing myself creatively. I am driven by my passion and the love for my craft. As the saying goes; “when you love what you are doing it is not work anymore.”
