“I consider my works an illustrated archive of my feelings and my beliefs at different stages of my life. They are a visual expression of how I interpret the world around me. The themes within my work are contradictory, innocent and erotic. Each subject I paint is disturbing, yet attractive, powerful and seductive.”
Higinia Garay studied Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country, in Bilbao. She was awarded with two scholarships, one at the University of Bradford and Ikkley Community College, and also at the University of Valencia. Higinia also went on to undertake a postgraduate course in Publication Design at the Istituto Europeo de Diseño. Higina now works as a graphic designer an illustrator in her home city, Bilbao.
